Annual Campaigns

Through your support of the Finger Lakes Health Foundation Annual Campaign, you can make a positive difference by helping to provide critically important technology and other enhancements for the patients and families served by Finger Lakes Health.

Our top Annual Campaign funding priority for both Geneva General Hospital and Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital for 2011 is support for Diagnostic Imaging.

Our hospitals' Diagnostic Imaging departments, like many other areas in healthcare today, are heavily dependent on state-of-the-art technology - not only to make the best possible care available close to home, but also to provide the latest tools for treatment and diagnosis. Patients of all ages are evaluated and treated through the use of a wide range of imaging technologies - to diagnose stroke, tumors to other serious medical conditions.

A decade ago, 90 percent of all hospitals produced "films" for patients having X-rays. Today, fewer than 10 percent produce films; Finger Lakes Health uses 100 percent digital imaging. The transformation from films to digital images has greatly increased the radiologist's ability to diagnose disease and other medical issues quicker and with far-better imaging. "This type of technology is always changing and improving," according to Jeffrey Fultz, director of diagnostic imaging for Finger Lakes Health. "It's critical that we continuously keep up with the most modern technology to benefit our patients."

Our 2011 Annual Campaign will help us continue to provide the latest diagnostic imaging technology to both of our hospitals.

Our overall goal for the 2011 Annual Campaign is $250,000 ($150,000 for Geneva General Hospital and $100,000 for Soldiers & Sailors Memorial).

For those interested in supporting Finger Lakes Health more broadly, a third giving option - contributions made to the Finger Lakes Health Fund - provides an additional giving choice. This fund provides more flexible support, with monies allocated to wherever the greatest needs present themselves across the health system in the three-county area. Projects supported by this fund are determined by the Foundation's Board of Directors.
