Governed by a board of directors held in trust for our community, we serve as a vital safety net, serving our communities with access to quality healthcare services.

1st Acute at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital is a 22-bed medical-surgical unit specializing in general patient care.  We provide care for patients who are experiencing an acute disease, recovering from a surgical procedure or the flare-up of a chronic problem.  Typical patients may be being treated for COPD, cardiac conditions, pneumonia or complications resulting from diabetes.  Dedicated teams of RNs, LPNs, Respiratory Therapists and nursing assistants, supported by a unit secretary, provide care.  We also provide same-day services which might include blood transfusions or other treatments which don't require admission to the hospital.  Ensuring that our patients and families are well cared for is of the utmost importance to the staff at Finger Lakes Health.
