Minimally Invasive Surgery

Minimally invasive surgery refers to the surgical technique using a relatively small incision and sometimes is used in conjunction with laparoscopic procedures.  Minimally invasive surgical techniques may be used in spine or hip replacement surgery, as well as abdominal surgeries.  Generally, however, minimally invasive surgery affords much less trauma to the surrounding tissue, reduced risk of infection, less pain, faster healing and a quicker recovery time.
