Mobile Meals Program

Mobile Meals is part of Geneva General Hospital's Care Management process of developing a safe discharge plan which enables the patient to return to their home. The diet-specific meals (one hot meal and one cold meal), which are prepared in the Nutritional Services Department at the hospital, meet the dietary requirements of the individual, dependent on their medical diagnosis. The program is designed to support the individuals' ability to regain and maintain independence in their own home. Individuals who discontinue receiving mobile meals generally are individuals who have requested the service temporarily after a recent illness, surgery or rehabilitation stay and no longer require the assistance of home delivered meals.

Meal Information

  • Meals are delivered Monday - Friday within a 2.5 mile radius of the hospital
  • No Meal Delivery on Saturday or Sunday
  • No Meal Delivery on the Six (6) Major Holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day)
  • We ask your Physician for a Diet Order (Our Program offers a Regular Diet, Heart Healthy (Low Fat/Low Salt) 1500 ADA, 1800 ADA and a Renal Diet)
  • The cost for Mobile Meals is currently $5.78/Day OR $28.90/Week, which represents One (1) Hot Meal and One (1) Cold Meal/Per Day
  • We can customize meal delivery to your needs - (i.e.: Mon - Wed - Fri) (Food likes and dislikes)
  • Payment is expected at the beginning of each week.  Payment may be made by check or cash.  The Volunteers will collect each Monday.
  • The meals are prepared in the Nutritional Services Department of Geneva General Hospital.
  • The meals are delivered by Volunteers and normally leave the hospital around 10:30 A.M.
