Huntington Living Center Residents Collect Food for House of Concern
Community spirit is alive and well at the Huntington Living Center in Waterloo. The residents recently collected over 300 pounds of food to be delivered to the House of Concern in Seneca Falls as part of this year’s United Way campaign.

Some 20 residents stuffed envelopes, sent donation requests to all residents’ family members, crafted food containers, and set up drop-off boxes around the living center units as part of the food drive campaign. At the end of the two-week effort, the residents far exceeded their goal of 300 pounds of food, logging a final weight of 362 pounds.

The entire Finger Lakes Health organization took part in the year’s United Way campaign, but Huntington Living Center Assistant Administrator Debbie Lockett said the residents wanted to do something extra special for their community. “The residents love being able to help others,” she said.
