Finger Lakes Health Honors Employees, Announces Employee Awards

Finger Lakes Health held its annual Employee Recognition Dinner last month honoring over 200 employees for their service to the community. The recognition honored 25 employees who have retired in the last 12 months. The Morton Orlov, M.D. Education Award was also presented to 16 employees who have finished a degree program through the various educational tuition assistance programs offered at Finger Lakes Health.

Two special awards were presented to employees who exceed in the workplace: The Leadership Excellence Award and the Employee of the Year. The Leadership Excellence Award recognizes outstanding performance by a leader who is a member of the management staff. Vicki Record, was the recipient for 2010. Record, director of Education and Dean of the College of Nursing was recognized for her exceptional leadership, expertise and commitment to improve educational opportunities for Finger Lakes Health employees and members of the community we serve, and expanding nursing education in the Finger Lakes region. This is the fourth year the Leadership Excellence Award has been presented.

The Employee of the Year for 2010 was unveiled at the end of the evening, honoring Michelle Gigliotti for her service at Geneva General Hospital. Gigliotti, coordinator in Scheduling Services, was recognized for her 25 years of service, dedication and commitment to improving processes and enhancing efficiency, quality, and the customer experience.

This is the ninth year the coveted Employee of the Year award has been presented, part of the Distinguished Values Award Program at Finger Lakes Health. Each quarter, employees from each site at Finger Lakes Health (Geneva, Waterloo and Penn Yan) are recognized. The Employee of the Year is chosen from these outstanding individuals. The program recognizes those employees who consistently demonstrate organizational values and whose performance clearly exceeds the requirements of their positions.

Both award recipients received a framed recognition certificate, their portrait on the wall of the facility, a cash award and a parking space for one year.
