Geneva General’s New Vision Medical Career Program Welcomes Class of 2012
The Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES New Vision Medical Career Program, held at Geneva General Hospital, has announced its Class of 2012.

The New Vision Medical Career Program is an educational partnership with Finger Lakes Technical & Career Center and Finger Lakes Health. Now in its 17th year of offering outstanding high school seniors from surrounding districts a total immersion approach to education, the New Vision program integrates English, health science, participation in government and economics into a curriculum where students meet daily at Geneva General Hospital.

Seventeen students are chosen from surrounding school districts each year for the one-year, academically rigorous program for college-bound seniors planning on majoring in pre-medicine, chemistry, biology, physical therapy or other allied health fields.

The New Vision Class of 2012, led by instructor Laura Van Niel, includes, from Bloomfield High School: Tristan Smith; Canandaigua Academy: Emmaline MacDonald, Kaela Mahoney, and Anna Wood; DeSales High School: Bryan Acevedo; Geneva High School: Ashtin Braman, Courtney Franceschi, Stephanie Lozada, Morgan Onorato, Kai Schara, and Danae Wetherbee; Marcus Whitman Central School: Bethany Phillips; Midlakes High School: Alexandria Aruck, Morgan DeVuyst, and Destiny Rodman; and Waterloo High School: Brandon Frank and Adam vonHahmann.
