Grants Enable Energy Efficiency Proposal at Finger Lakes Health

Finger Lakes Health, in conjunction with TRANE U.S. Inc., is proud to announce an Energy Efficiency Improvements Program that will implement an energy project that will result in a $250,000 annual reduction in operating costs across the health system.

In order to make this proposal possible, grants were secured from NYSEG, Independent Energy Efficiency Program (IEEP), and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA).

Frank Korich, Vice President and Site Administrator for Finger Lakes Health, noted that the opportunities these grants provide have positive ripple effects throughout the health system, including impacting patient care areas.

“We continue to use technology to reduce our consumption of energy resources, which preserves financial resources that may be dedicated to the treatment and care of our patients and residents, who are always our first priority,” he said.

The Energy Efficiency Improvements Program will include improvements to Geneva General Hospital, the GGH Child Care Center, Finger Lakes Surgery Center, Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, The Homestead at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, the Medical Office Building in Geneva, Huntington Living Center, and Living Centers North and South in Geneva.

Specific advancements include upgrades to energy management controls; implementation of energy conservation measures with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems; and upgrades of selected lighting.
