Grandma’s Apple Berry Crisp

Ingredients 4 c. sliced apples
1 ½ c. berries (fresh or frozen unsweetened, blueberries or raspberries)
1/4 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
2/3 c. whole wheat flour
1/2 c. rolled oats (not instant)
1/3 c. lightly packed light brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 Tbsp. canola oil
1 Tbsp. margarine
3 Tbsp. frozen apple juice concentrate
2 Tbsp. toasted chopped nuts
Instructions Preheat oven to 350° F. Place apples and berries in 9½-inch deep-dish pan or 8-inch square baking dish. Sprinkle with sugar and lemon juice, toss to mix. Mix flour, oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon together. Add oil & stir to coat. Add margarine in pieces with fork until blended. Add apple juice concentrate and mix until moistened. Stir in nuts and sprinkle over apples and berry mixture. Bake 35-40 minutes, or until tender and topping is lightly browned. Cool 10-15 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature. Serves 8.
