Donations Needed For New Vision Medical Career Program

Donations are needed for the 10th Annual New Vision Medical Career Program Garage Sale, a benefit for the Geneva General Child Care Center. Any quality used toys, furniture, jewelry, clothing, kitchen accessories, electronics, and antiques may be donated. All donations are greatly appreciated.

New Vision Medical is a program offered cooperatively for component school districts by Finger Lakes Health and Finger Lakes Technical and Career Center. New Vision provides an interdisciplinary curriculum and experiential learning opportunity to high school seniors interested in pursuing medical careers. The program allows students to explore a full array of medical careers while gaining 200 hours of clinical experience.

In an effort to give back to the hospital, the class holds an annual garage sale to benefit different areas of the health system. This year, the New Vision class will donate their proceeds to the Geneva Child Care Center, with a goal of $3250 for the sale.

Donated items for the sale can be dropped off at the Geneva Child Care Center (6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.), or in the New Vision classroom, located in the Long Term Care North Basement at Geneva General Hospital between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The Garage Sale will be held Thursday, May 30, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; and Friday, May 31, 8:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. at 54 Mason St. / Torrey Ave. (Garage). For any questions, or information regarding tax write-offs, please contact Laura VanNiel at (315) 787-4068.
