Finger Lakes Health Honors Employees for Years of Service, Announces Employee Awards for 2013
Finger Lakes Health held its annual Employee Recognition Dinner on May 13, 2014, honoring over 250 employees for their service to the community.

The recognition honored 29 employees who have retired in the last 12 months. The Morton Orlov, M.D. Education Award was also presented to 14 employees who have finished a degree program through the various educational tuition assistance programs offered at Finger Lakes Health.

Two special awards were presented to employees who exceed in the workplace: the James J. Dooley Leadership Excellence Award and the Employee of the Year. The James J. Dooley Leadership Excellence Award recognizes outstanding performance by a leader who is a member of the management staff. Rebecca Mack was the recipient for 2013. Mack, director of surgical services for Finger Lakes Health, was recognized for her commitment to Finger Lakes Health’s mission and values, and her outstanding job performance and leadership skills. This is the seventh year the Leadership Excellence Award has been presented.

The Employee of the Year for 2013 was presented at the end of the evening, honoring Bea Watt, CNA on Unit 1 at Living Center Geneva-South, for her service at Finger Lakes Health. Watt was recognized for consistently going above and beyond and providing exceptional service to patients, families, physicians, and colleagues.

This is the twelfth year the coveted Employee of the Year award has been presented, part of the Distinguished Values Award Program at Finger Lakes Health. Each quarter, employees from each site at Finger Lakes Health (Geneva, Waterloo, and Penn Yan) are recognized. The Employee of the Year is chosen from these outstanding individuals. The program recognizes those employees who consistently demonstrate organizational values and whose performance clearly exceeds the requirements of their positions.

Both award recipients received an engraved recognition plaque, their portrait on the Distinguished Values Wall of Fame, a cash award and dinner certificate, and a reserved parking space for one year.
