Geneva General Hospital Auxiliary Honors New Vision Student
The Geneva General Hospital Auxiliary has awarded a $500 scholarship to Taylor Pestle, a 2013 graduate from Honeoye Central School. Pestle was awarded the scholarship because she earned the highest mentor evaluation average (99.12%) among her classmates in the New Vision Medical Career Program at Geneva General Hospital.

Pestle’s scholarship was announced at the New Vision graduation held June 10, and was presented to her by New Vision Instructor Laura Van Niel.

“The New Vision students are an asset to Geneva General, and we are honored to help Taylor as she begins her physical therapy studies at Daemen College in the fall,” said Auxiliary President Molly Mahoney-Thurston.

The New Vision Medical Career Program is an educational partnership with Finger Lakes Technical & Career Center and Finger Lakes Health. Now in its 18th year of offering outstanding high school seniors from surrounding districts a total immersion approach to education, the New Vision program integrates English, Health Science, Participation in Government and Economics into a curriculum where students meet daily at Geneva General Hospital.

Established in 1951, the Geneva General Hospital Auxiliary, through friend-raising, fund-raising and volunteer service, is committed to helping the organization provide compassionate and high quality health care services to our Finger Lakes community. If you would like to join the Auxiliary, contact the Volunteer Office at (315) 787-4065.
