Finger Lakes Health Elects New Members to Board of Directors
The Board of Directors of Finger Lakes Health held their annual meeting. At this meeting, the following new members were elected: David Bunnell for a 5-year term, Menzo Case for a 2-year term, Kelly J. Mittiga for a 1-year term, and Donald P. Wertman for a 3-year term.
David Bunnell is President, Bunnell Associates, LLC, an investment company engaged primarily in real estate development and related activities in Geneva, NY. Previously, Mr. Bunnell served as the Senior Executive Vice President of The Schwan Food Company headquartered in Marshall, MN and as President of that company’s venture group. Locally, Mr. Bunnell is an active member of the community, serving on the following boards: Smith Center for the Arts, Geneva BID, Geneva Growth, Ontario County Economic development Corporation and the Finger Lakes Boating Museum. Mr. Bunnell is also a retired attorney, receiving his Doctor of Jurisprudence at the Indiana University Indianapolis Law School. Mr. Bunnell currently resides in Geneva with his wife, Lynne. They have three grown children.
Menzo Case is President & CEO, Seneca Falls Savings Bank and also serves on its board. He holds a NY state license as a Certified Public Accountant and previously held the title of Executive Vice President and CFO at Seneca Falls Savings Bank. Mr. Case currently serves on the boards of the following local organizations: Habitat for Humanity of Seneca County, Seneca County Housing Coalition, and the Finger Lakes Workforce Investment Board. He was recently honored with the 2010 Citizen of the Year award by the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce and was awarded the George Bailey Award in 2009 during the “It’s A Wonderful Life” celebration. Mr. Case and his wife Susan have four children and reside in Seneca Falls.
Kelly J. Mittiga is Senior Vice President, Retail Banking for First Niagara Bank. Originally from Buffalo Grove, IL, Ms. Mittiga is a William Smith College graduate and a very active member in the community. Currently, she is serving as Board Chair for the Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce and is Treasurer, and Past President, of the Boys and Girls Club of Geneva. She is also a member of the following professional organizations: Jobs for Geneva, FLCC Geneva Advisory Council, City of Geneva Revolving Loan Fund, and the City of Geneva Economic Development Advisory Council. She has been awarded the Finger Lakes Leadership “Distinguished Community Leader” award (2010), Paul Harris Fellow award (2010), Zonta Woman of Distinction Honor (2009) and the Rochester Business Journal “40 Under 40” award (2004). Ms. Mittiga currently resides in Geneva with her husband, Benjamin and their three children.
Donald P. Wertman is the Chief Operating Officer, Seedway, LLC located in Hall, NY. Mr. Wertman is a graduate of Seedsman’s Academy at Purdue University and has been employed with Seedway since 1974. He is affiliated with, and served on the boards of many seed organizations including: Chairman of Allied Seed, Nampa, ID, Field Seed Institute of North America, and the New York Seed Association. Also, he was honored as an honorary lifetime member of the American Seed Trade Association where he served as Chairman. Locally, he is a trustee of Keuka College and is a past board member at Finger Lakes Health and Geneva General Hospital. Mr. Wertman is an ordained elder and choir member of Geneva Presbyterian Church. Wertman is a member of the Board of Managers of the Bach Choir of Bethlehem, PA. He has a grown daughter, Roberta, and currently resides in Hall with his wife, Christine.
In addition to new members, a new Chair, Suzanne Sinclair, was also elected to the Board of Directors. Ms. Sinclair is the Manager for Seneca County. She is currently an Executive Board Member for the Genesee/Finger Lakes Regional Planning Council. Ms. Sinclair moved to the Finger Lakes from Washington State, where she served as Island County Auditor, and was involved with a number of civic organizations. Ms. Sinclair resides in Seneca Falls.
Finger Lakes Health is a community owned, not-for-profit health system that provides a full range of acute and long-term care health services to residents of the Finger Lakes Region. Finger Lakes Health is comprised of Geneva General Hospital, Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, The Homestead at Soldiers & Sailors, Huntington Living Center and the Living Centers at Geneva – North and South. The 660-bed health system is governed by a common Board of Directors and is served by a common management team.
