Kurt Koczent, RN, MSHA, was selected as part of the group of honorees for the 15th annual Rochester Business Journal Forty Under 40 awards. This award sponsored by the Rochester-based business journal recognizes business professionals younger than 40 years for professional accomplishments and service to the community.
Kurt Koczent, RN, MSHA is the Chief Administrative Officer for FLH Medical, P.C., a private multi-specialty physician practice affiliated with Finger Lakes Health. He started with the practice in the spring of 2009. FLH Medical, P.C. owns and operates multi-specialty practices in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine Orthopedic Surgery, Pulmonology, Urology, Geriatrics, Physiatry and Nephrology covering offices in 3 counties and an Urgent Care service in Geneva.
Kurt earned an Associates Degree in Applied Nursing in 1995 from State University of NY, Alfred, a Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2006 from Roberts Wesleyan College, Rochester, NY and a Masters of Science in Health Administration in 2008. He also State University of NY, Empire College, Health Management in 2002.
Previously Kurt was employed in the Thompson Health System and was responsible for the Diagnostic Imaging, five physician practices, the laboratory, physical therapy, occupational therapy, sports medicine, occupational medicine, urgent care and rheumatology. Prior to his health system experience, Kurt served as the Health Services Administrator of Monroe County Jail and Correctional Facility. From 1997-2000, Kurt was an RN at the Call Center of Lifetime Health.
Kurt was also enlisted in the US Army, and was the Senior Safety and Security Officer in 2004 for the Humanitarian Mission in Nicaragua. From 1996 through 2006, Kurt served in the US Army Reserve as a Captain, RN and Safety & Training Officer, teaching enlisted soldiers basic soldiering and first aid skills was one of his many duties. He also served a registered nurse in a surgical intensive care unit.
Koczent is active in the community as a member of the Geneva Generals Hockey Board, and as football coach, and youth lacrosse medic. He lives in Geneva with his wife Kristen, and their four children, who are very active in school and community sports.
