FLH Thrive Magazine Earns Gold Aster Award
Finger Lakes Health’s Fall 2011 issue of Thrive has been recognized for excellence in a national advertising/marketing competition. The health and wellness magazine received a Gold Aster Award.

Thrive is written and designed by Finger Lakes Health semi-annually in the Spring and Fall. It is distributed to more than 90,000 homes in the Finger Lakes region.

The Aster Awards program, one of the largest national competitions of its kind, is hosted by Marketing Healthcare Today Magazine and Creative Images, Inc. This elite program recognizes outstanding healthcare professionals for excellence in their advertising/marketing efforts.

The Aster Awards competition in which Finger Lake Health’s Fall 2011 Thrive publication was recognized, received nearly 3,000 entries from across the United States as well as Canada and South America. Participant’s entries competed against similar-sized organizations in their category.

Awards were issued for entries that received top marks from judges placing them in the top 16% of the nation for advertising excellence. Judging criteria included creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality and overall appeal. To receive the Gold Award, Finger Lakes Health’s publication was among entries who attained a score of 95 to 99, placing them in the top 5% in the nation.

“Although our nation has been challenged economically, the talent of healthcare marketing professionals seems to be at an all time high. The 2012 Aster Awards program contained some of the best advertising arguably in the world. The judge’s expectations were again surpassed,” said Melinda Lucas, Aster Awards Program coordinator.

All winners are posted on the Aster Awards website (www.AsterAwards.com), as well as published in Marketing Healthcare Today, a national healthcare marketing magazine.
