Finger Lakes Health Foundation
The Mission of the Finger Lakes Health Foundation is to cultivate, secure and steward philanthropic gifts to support the capital, programmatic and endowment needs of Finger Lakes Health.
Our Vision Statement is: The Finger Lakes Health Foundation will provide outstanding opportunities for people to invest their time, energy and resources in support of excellent healthcare in the communities served by Finger Lakes Health.
Gifts to the Foundation support programs and special projects of Finger Lakes Health and its affiliated entities (Geneva General Hospital, Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Living Center North and South, Huntington Living Center and outpatient clinics), as well as grants to support health and health-education programs and projects in Ontario, Yates and Seneca counties.
Foundation revenues are derived from:
- Annual giving programs that solicit contributions from area residents, businesses, civic organizations, and others closely affiliated with Finger Lakes Health.
- Grants from private, community, and independent foundations for special projects and initiatives
- Capital campaigns, which seek support for major projects
- Planned gifts
- Estate gifts
- Gifts-in-kind
- Investment income
You may designate your contribution for use within a specific entity, program or department, or make your gift on an unrestricted basis, to be used at the discretion of the Foundation board. All gifts are assigned to one of three funds (unless otherwise directed or restricted):
Finger Lakes Health Fund Contributions to this fund provide support for system-wide services and facilities of Finger Lakes Health, which serves residents of Ontario, Seneca, Wayne and Yates counties. Contributions that are not designated for the other two funds (below) are placed into the Finger Lakes Health Fund.

These include Geneva General Hospital, the Living Centers North and South, Finger Lakes Surgery Center, the Marion S. Whalen School of Practical Nursing, the Finger Lakes Health College of Nursing, Seneca Family Health Center, Huntington Living Center, and the Adult Day Health Centers in Geneva and Waterloo.
