We value knowledge, compassion, competence, effective communication and an environment that contributes to well being while caring for each individual as if he or she were a member of our family.
In the Olaf and Elaine Lieberg Intesive Care Unit at Geneva General Hospital, we provide interdisciplinary care for those patients who require a higher nurse to patient ration, close monitoring of bodily functions or medications, technical support, and psychosocial and spiritual care.
Our ICU serve adults with general medical, surgical or cardiac needs using the most advanced technology to continuously evaluate a patient's condition. All our ICU patients are monitored using state-of-the-art, bedside multi-measurement monitors, assessing a patient's cardiac and respiratory performance, blood pressure and vital signs. With our equipment, we are able to monitor pulmonary artery pressures, central venous pressure, and arterial pressure. All IV fluids and medications are controlled by infusion pumps. Patients who require respiratory support are managed with mechanical ventilators or non-invasive positive pressure ventilators. Patients who require temporary cardiac pacemakers are supported by external or direct cardiac pacing.
Finger Lakes Health is the recipient of the VHA Leadership Award for Clinical Excellence in the prevention of ventilator associated pneumonia.
