Waterloo, NY– Community Bank has donated $5000.00 to Finger Lakes Health Foundation to help fund the renovation of the resident courtyard at Huntington Living Center in Waterloo, NY.

Huntington Living Center, one of 4 adult long term care residences in the University of Rochester Finger Lakes Health system, is a 160-bed skilled nursing facility located at 369 East Main Street in the village of Waterloo. The center consists of 4, 40-bed units located on 3 floors. The Special Needs Unit specializes in the care of those with Alzheimer's and other dementia-related diagnoses. Huntington offers a broad range of skilled nursing and rehabilitative services provided by a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, physical, occupational and speech therapists, social workers, and activities and nutritional services staff.

The courtyard, a favorite area of recreation and respite for residents, their visitors and staff, is centered around a gazebo and features walking paths lined with plants and flowers and a covered pavilion. Renovations, supported as well by the all-volunteer Taylor Brown Auxiliary with a $18,000 donation in December, are slated to begin this month.

“Our friends at Community Bank, like the dedicated members of Taylor Brown Auxiliary who support Huntington year after year, understand the importance of being able to provide a caring, safe home locally for our neighbors and family members who are aging or need extra help,” says Wiliam S. Garrity, Finger Lakes Health’s Vice President of Long Term Care. “Our sincere thanks to all who are helping to make the renovation of the courtyard possible.”
