May is National Skin Cancer Awareness Month
According to the American Cancer Society, skin cancer is the most common of all cancer types. More than 3.5 million skin cancers are diagnosed each year in the United States. That's more than all other cancers combined. The number of skin cancer cases has been going up over the past few decades.

The good news is that you can do a lot to protect yourself and your family from skin cancer, or to catch it early enough so that it can be treated effectively. Most skin cancers are caused by too much exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays. Much of this exposure comes from the sun, but some may come from man-made sources, such as indoor tanning lamps.

Geneva General Dermatology, the office of Emily Lambert, M.D. and Sara Drew, RN, MSN, ANP-BC, is accepting new patients and is able to identify skin cancer and provide education about sun safety and skin care.

Dr. Emily Lambert is a graduate of Yale University School of Medicine and is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Lambert completed her Internal Medicine internship and Dermatology residency at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. Sara Drew RN, MSN, ANP-BC, completed her medical education at the University of Rochester School of Medicine.

Geneva General Dermatology specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the skin, hair and nails. Geneva General Dermatology provides locally-based, medical expertise for the maintenance of the body's largest, and perhaps most vulnerable, organ – the skin. Many medical conditions, such as psoriasis, acne, or sun-damaged skin, require the unique experience, diagnostic skills, testing services and treatment procedures offered by a dermatologist. Geneva General Dermatology is located at 70 Mason Street, in Geneva. Appointments can be made by calling (315) 787-5355.
