Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Therapy

Do you experience urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, or pelvic organ prolapse? The therapy team at Finger Lakes Health Outpatient Rehabilitation can help reduce symptoms and improve your quality of life.

Pelvic floor muscles support posture, breathing, bladder function, and more. When these muscles become weak, tight, or painful—often due to childbirth, surgery, prolonged sitting or standing, anxiety, or conditions such as endometriosis or interstitial cystitis—problems can occur.

Common, treatable conditions include:

  • Urinary incontinence

    • Urge incontinence: leakage with a sudden, strong need to urinate

    • Stress incontinence: leakage with coughing, sneezing, laughing, or exercise

  • Pelvic organ prolapse: symptoms may include pelvic pressure, pain with sitting, low back pain, urinary difficulty, or incomplete bladder emptying

  • Postpartum back pain and diastasis recti: weakness and posture changes causing pain with lifting, bending, or walking

You don’t have to live with these symptoms. To speak with a therapist, call (315) 787-4570 or (315) 531-2577.
