Finger Lakes Health Athletic Training

At Finger Lakes Health, we believe that every athlete deserves access to elite-level sports medicine.

Our Athletic Training department serves as the frontline of safety and recovery for our community’s sports programs. Our mission is to provide comprehensive, evidence-based healthcare that maximizes long-term physical wellness and minimizes time on the sidelines.

We bridge the gap between the heat of competition and the clinical expertise of the region’s top sports medicine healthcare providers.

Our team consists of board-certified (BOC) and New York State licensed Athletic Trainers who are highly skilled in the prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of emergent, acute, or chronic injuries and medical conditions.

Unlike traditional healthcare roles, our Athletic Trainers are members of your community. You’ll find us on the sidelines and in the athletic training clinics of local high schools and at community sporting events, providing:

  • Immediate Emergency Care: rapid response for orthopaedic injuries, heat illness, cervical spine and cardiac emergencies including CPR/AED
  • Concussion Management: best practices to ensure a safe Return to Learn and Return to Play.
  • Orthopaedic Rehabilitation: evidence based rehabilitation for musculoskeletal sports injuries.
  • The Continuum of Care: seamlessly connecting athletes to the region's top sports medicine orthopaedic physicians, physical therapists, and primary care physicians within the region’s healthcare network.

Because we are part of University of Rochester Medicine, our care doesn't end when the game is over. Our integrated approach means your medical records, imaging (like X-rays and MRIs), and rehabilitation plans are all housed under one roof, ensuring a faster, more coordinated recovery process for the athlete and less stress for the family.

Our athletic trainers help athletes of all abilities achieve greatness. See how we can help you or your team. Contact Finger Lakes Health Rehabilitation Department at 315-787-4570.

When treatment is necessary, we work closely with you, and your care team to decide which treatment options are right for you. Access to the UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health network of specialists, including orthopaedics and expert concussion care ensures that you can find the care you need close to home.
