October 26, 2026
GENEVA— University of Rochester Medicine Finger Lakes Health continues to expand access to primary and specialty care across the Finger Lakes region, welcoming board-certified pulmonary and critical care physician, Dr. Aaliya Burza to Finger Lakes Health Pulmonology, a new specialty care office located in Suite 301 of the Medical Office Building on the campus of Geneva General Hospital.
Dr. Burza joins Finger Lakes Health from Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, N.Y., where she served as a pulmonary and critical care physician. She brings extensive experience diagnosing and treating lung and respiratory conditions, performing regular and robotic bronchoscopies, lung biopsies, EBUS, and caring for critically ill patients in the ICU.
Her joining Finger Lakes Health expands local access to specialized pulmonary care for patients with respiratory concerns and provides primary care providers with an additional resource for patients who need specialty evaluation and treatment.
Dr. Burza completed fellowship training in pulmonary and critical care medicine at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, where she later served as a clinical assistant professor of medicine and associate program director for the Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship Program. She completed her internal medicine residency at Pennsylvania Hospital, part of the University of Pennsylvania Health System and received her medical degree from Government Medical College Jammu, India. She is board-certified in Internal medicine, Pulmonary disease and Critical Care Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians.
The addition of Finger Lakes Health Pulmonology reflects the organization’s continued investment in growing primary and specialty care, helping patients access the services they need closer to home while strengthening connections between primary care providers and specialists.
“Expanding access to care means giving our communities more opportunities to receive the right care, close to home,” said Jose Acevedo, MD, MBA, President and CEO of University of Rochester Medicine Finger Lakes Health. “By growing our primary care network and bringing additional specialists to the Finger Lakes, we are making it easier for patients to connect with the expertise they need and for providers to coordinate care across our local health care system.”
Patients seeking pulmonary care and primary care providers interested in referring patients to Dr. Burza can contact Finger Lakes Health Pulmonology at 315-787-4300 to inquire about appointments.
