Interlakes Orthopaedic Surgery Welcomes Fellowship-Trained Sports Medicine Surgeon

GENEVA—University of Rochester Medicine Interlakes Orthopaedic Surgery is pleased to welcome Lauren Alvermann, MD, a fellowship-trained orthopaedic sports medicine surgeon, to its team of orthopaedic specialists serving Geneva and the Finger Lakes region.
Dr. Alvermann specializes in the treatment of shoulder and knee conditions and provides care for athletes and active individuals of all ages. Her clinical expertise includes sports-related injuries, traumatic injuries and degenerative conditions affecting the knee and shoulder
Dr. Alvermann has specialized training in arthroscopic, minimally invasive and joint-preserving surgical techniques and also performs anatomic and reverse total shoulder replacement, with a focus on helping patients return to the activities they enjoy.
She earned her medical degree from NYU Grossman School of Medicine and completed her orthopaedic surgery residency at NYU Langone Health. She completed an Orthopaedic Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery Fellowship at the University of Michigan, where she provided team physician coverage for University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University athletics.
Originally from Michigan, Dr. Alvermann earned her bachelor’s degree in cellular and molecular biology from the University of Michigan. Outside of work, she enjoys running, horseback riding, traveling and spending time with her family and golden retriever, Lena.
Dr. Alvermann is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.
