New X-Ray Machine and Renovated Room Celebrated with Ribbon Cutting at Geneva General Hospital
March 2, 2026Geneva - Finger Lakes Health’s CEO and President Jose Acevedo, MD, MBA was joined by Finger Lakes Health system and Foundation Board members, donors and Radiology team members to cut the ribbon on a new X-ray machine and renovated imaging space at Geneva General Hospital.
The new machine was funded in part by gifts to the Finger Lakes Health Foundation, in particular a $10,000 donation from the Marilyn Lichtman Foundation and $5,000 from Finger Lakes Federal Credit Union, as well as from Friends of Geneva General Hospital (formerly known as Geneva General Hospital Auxiliary, a local group which supports the hospital by volunteering and staging a variety of fundraisers throughout the year.)
Prior to cutting the ribbon, Joan Grela of Seneca Falls, Chair of the Finger Lakes Health Foundation Board of Directors, acknowledged the efforts of donors and the Geneva General Hospital staff to make the new X-ray a reality. “This milestone was made possible by the generosity and vision of individuals, families, businesses, and community partners who believe in the power of local healthcare,” said Grela. “Your support ensures that our community continues to have access to high-quality diagnostic imaging close to home.”
The Radiology team at Geneva General Hospital performs and reviews more than 20,000 X-rays each year. X-rays can be performed without an appointment on a “walk-in” basis with a referral from a provider. Patients will be able to see results in UR Medicine’s MyChart patient portal.
