Remember a Loved One or Mark a Special Occasion with Finger Lakes Health Auxiliaries’ Annual Holiday Remembrance Trees
November 18, 2025
(Geneva, NY) Patients, residents and families again will be greeted at three UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health facilities this holiday season by beautiful holiday trees, adorned in twinkly lights and ornaments, as Finger Lakes Health’s Auxiliaries continue their annual remembrance tree traditions.
Friends of Geneva General Hospital, formerly the hospital Auxiliary, is sponsoring a Pinecone Remembrance Tree. For a $10 donation, the Auxiliary will add a special tag to a gold-tinted pinecone on the tree in the lobby of GGH, or you may purchase a commemorative ornament for $30, featuring an etching of the original Geneva General Hospital building on the front with your loved one’s name on the back. It’s yours to keep after the holidays.
To participate, send $10 per cone or $30 per ornament with the name of the person you would like to honor or commemorate to Friends of Geneva General Hospital, C/O Finger Lakes Health Foundation, 196 North Street, Geneva, NY 14456. Checks should be made out to Geneva General Hospital Auxiliary. If desired, an acknowledgment will be sent.
In Penn Yan, Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will decorate the hospital’s tree with special ornaments in their annual “That Their Lights May Shine” initiative. This year, for a donation of $100.00 or more organizations or businesses can honor up to 10 staff, club or team members, or celebrate a special business milestone with an ornament displaying the business/organization name and the names of up to 10 employees/members you want to celebrate to the holiday tree in the hospital lobby. Individual ornaments are $10 each and orders may be sent to Susan Eisenhart, 309 Elm St., Penn Yan, NY 14527. Please make checks payable to ‘Soldiers & Sailors Auxiliary’ and include the name and message for your ornament tag.
The Taylor Brown Auxiliary’s annual “Festival of Stars” project supports Huntington Living Center in Waterloo. For a donation of $5 or more, a light will be placed on the holiday tree in front of the Living
Center in memory of or in honor of individuals or special events. In addition, a crystal star will be placed on a special holiday tree in the main lobby at Huntington. To participate, please send $5 per star to Taylor-Brown Auxiliary, Huntington Living Center, 369 East Main Street, Waterloo, NY 13165. All donations will be used to benefit residents of the Huntington Living Center. Donations will be accepted throughout the holiday season.
Also, join Taylor Brown Auxiliary and Huntington’s residents and staff at the official holiday tree lighting on Wednesday, December 3. Refreshments will be served!
All holiday trees will be on display through New Year’s Day.
Finger Lakes Health Auxiliaries volunteer to raise money in support of patients and projects at their local UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health affiliate.
