GENEVA— University of Rochester Medicine Finger Lakes Health is proud to announce that it is expanding its pediatric services into Geneva under the leadership of highly respected and well-known pediatrician, Grace Freier, MD, as medical director.

Dr. Freier, who has cared for generations of local children, will continue seeing patients at Lifecare Medical Associates in Seneca Falls in addition to Geneva.

"Our goal is to expand access to high-quality pediatric care for families throughout our region," said Dr. Freier. "I am excited to welcome two outstanding pediatricians to our team as we continue to meet the growing needs of children and families in our community. This extension creates a dedicated pediatric office where children will receive personalized care from providers they know and trust. We want to provide a place where children can grow and thrive, while building lasting relationships with families through every stage of childhood."

The two pediatricians joining Dr. Freier are: Dr. Marissa Rice, who is currently accepting patients, and Dr. Aparna Peri in September.

For the first time, University of Rochester Medicine Finger Lakes Health will offer pediatric care in Geneva, bringing dedicated pediatric services to local families in a familiar and convenient location: Finger Lakes Health Primary Care, currently located on the second floor of the medical office building on the Geneva General Hospital campus. The practice will have a dedicated pediatric office on the 1st floor of the building next summer, following extensive renovation.

The growth reflects Finger Lakes Health's commitment to ensuring children and families have access to high-quality healthcare close to home, while benefiting from the resources and expertise of University of Rochester Medicine.

Families will also have access to MyChart, making it easier to schedule appointments, communicate with providers, review test results, and manage their child's healthcare online.

Marissa Rice, MD, most recently worked as a pediatrician at Boston Children’s Hospital and Atrius Health in Concord, MA. She completed her Pediatrics Residency at Boston Children’s Hospital, and attended medical school at SUNY Upstate Medical University. Dr. Rice is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Professional Society on the Abuse of Children.

The addition of pediatric services in Geneva is part of University of Rochester Medicine Finger Lakes Health's ongoing efforts to expand access to care throughout the Finger Lakes region, ensuring families can receive the care they need, where they need it most.
