UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health’s Board of Directors has elected a new board member Stephen Griffin.

In addition, the following officers were elected: Ryan Hallings, Chair; Rev. James Adams, Vice Chair; James Nardozzi, Secretary; Jose Acevedo, MD, President & CEO; and Trisha Koczent, Treasurer and CFO.

New board member Stephen Griffin is CEO of the Finger Lakes Economic Development Center, located in Penn Yan, NY.

Griffin is the chair-elect for the New York State Economic Development Council. He belongs to the American Enterprise Institute Leadership Network and is a member of the executive committee of the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council. He also is the chair of the Keuka College Community Associates board.

In 2017 he was named New York State Economic Developer of the Year. He also received the DeWitt Clinton Masonic Award for Community Services in 2015 and the Yates County Chamber Norman Snow Jr. Award in 2015.

Griffin earned his Executive Master of Business Administration degree from University at Buffalo School of Management, The State University of New York and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Niagara University.

Finger Lakes Health is an integrated delivery system that provides a full range of acute and long-term care health services to residents of the Finger Lakes region in upstate New York. Acute and long-term care services are provided on three campuses located in Ontario, Seneca and Yates Counties. Primary care services are provided in Ontario, Seneca, Wayne and Yates Counties.

The 623-bed health system consists of the following facilities: Geneva General Hospital, a general acute care hospital providing both primary care and a full range of secondary level services, and Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, a critical access hospital. FLH also includes four long-term care facilities, seven primary care practices, six specialty care practices, and two apartment complexes. The system also includes an ambulatory surgery center, inpatient and outpatient dialysis center, an early learning (child care center), an outpatient psychiatric services clinic, a college of nursing and health sciences, and a school of practical nursing.
